Ideas For Wedding Reception Songs
The wedding reception songs you choose tell your guests a lot about you and your vision of your wedding. Knowing that you want your reception to be a joyous conclusion to your wedding you will need to really think about what songs you want played. So let’s look at a few all time greatest wedding reception songs.
Your first dance is such a special moment and you want to make sure that the song you dance to, is special to you and your husband. Maybe you two already have “your” song, but if you don’t you may want to think about one of the following classic first dance wedding songs. For the country fan, Faith Hill’s “Breathe” is a beautiful choice, or George Strait’s “I Cross My Heart.” If you like more traditional songs you should listen to “I Do (Cherish You)” by 98 Degrees, “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion, or Michael Bolton’s “When a Man Loves a Woman.”
Another important dance, and one that always brings tears, is the Father Daughter dance. You want this song to really be heartfelt, so take your time and listen to several songs. Here are a few that I really love and would highly suggest. First song that comes to mind is “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle. If you and your Father have been through a lot and he has always been there for you “Wind Beneath My Wings” by Bette Midler is the perfect song.
A Mother-Son dance can also be a real moment at a wedding reception. A lot of guys are real mama’s boys at heart, and she will really thank you for this memory! One song that instantly comes to mind is “A Song for Mama” by Boyz II Men. “The Perfect Fan” by the Backstreet Boys is a great song for that really supportive mother. Other song’s that will melt her heart are Mariah Carey’s “Hero”, Barry Manilow’s “I am Your Child, and the Beatles’ “In My Life.”
There are so many great wedding reception songs out there to choose from, the hard part is narrowing down your list. Include your fiancé, get his opinion, as well as the opinions of your family and friends; often they will introduce you to the most amazing song that you’ve never heard. Good luck with your selections!
